...This songbook is full of inspiring songs for work and play to sing throughout the day; both traditional & original songs; includes guitar chords and an Exclusive Interview with living folk legend Pete Seeger!!!

Excerpt from the Introduction:
"In olden times, singing was a part of daily life. No matter what work or activity was at hand, it was always accompanied by song. Several generations lived together in one house; grandparents passed on songs to children and grand children. The meaning in the singing was not simply to pass the time or to help ease work. People still felt a quality of God and Spirit in the home when they sang. One mother in Finland described that when she sang through her work of the day she felt the loving hand of God protecting her home and family.

Today our culture is suffering in many ways. Through singing, we can again bring joy, peace and meaning to the daily tasks of our lives with our children. This songbook was created to bring joyful and fun songs into home and classroom. Singing can help keep us happy though the day. Singing while we work can also help to deepen our breathing, balance our life of soul, and help us become more present in the moment. As I sweep the floor and sing our sweeping song, I find I am actually more IN the task of sweeping. It is a simple, fun way to practice mindfulness. Being present in mind and heart will make us better parents and teachers, AND singing makes our work easier and lighter, just as Mary Poppins sings" and every task we undertake, becomes a piece of cake!…"
