Special Memorial Edition of Valborg Werbeck Svardstrom's book Uncovering the Voice, the key text for Werbeck singers.
In Memoriam - Mary Thienes Schunemann – Oct 7th 1960 - 30th August 2007
Mary’s own work was inspired by and based upon the seminal work of Valborg Werbeck Svardstrom, who wrote Uncovering the Voice, a book considered the indispensable guide to Svardstrom's work.
Mary facilitated the re-publication of the second edition of Uncovering the Voice by raising funds at a public concert and fund raising through philanthropic institutions ultimately sent to the publisher totally $2,000. Mary wanted the second edition to be a facsimile of the original 1980 English translation, but to include both a biography of Valborg by Jurgen Schreifer and certain enhancing images. The edition was, indeed, published in 2002.
This edition went out of print as Mary herself was returning to the spirit world. She wished that a third edition be published, as in 2002, only on better quality paper to reflect the value of this key text in Verbeck singing.
The publisher has generously suggested that this newly typeset 3rd edition be dedicated to Mary, providing a fitting memorial that might enable future generations of singers to take up the work that Mary and Valborg felt would help with human evolution.
