The
Rafael Foundation sponsors workshops,
lectures and ongoing classes for those interested to
bring living, joyful 'musicking' into their home,
classroom and work environments.
In the past, sound was seen as a vehicle through which prayer and
healing took place. Then, as now, music facilitated health, well being and a
feeling of belonging. We at the Rafael Foundation seek to bring this sound
medicine to 21st century living. thus awakening the peace and healing that
lies within all of us.
Music by its very nature wants to be shared. By creating music together,
we learn to listen in a deeper way to ourselves, each other and the spirit
that lives between us. The Rafael Foundation offers a new path in singing
and instrument playing that is for everyone! We recognize that every one of us has an inner musical sense which can
be cultivated. We do this through singing and playing instruments together
which enable us to more freely engage in joyful 'musiking', thus enlivening
ourselves as individuals as well as harmonizing groups.
We want music and listening to become a healing and joyful art!
Our latest project has been to re-print the book
"Uncovering the Voice" by V. W. Svardstrom, a
book on the basic principles of the School of Uncovering
the Voice by its founding teacher. An extraordinarily
insightful book on the art of singing and the principle
of the "etheric", healing tone. A must for all
singers! Available from the Rafael Foundation
